Paddling trip cancellation policy for reserved spring run nights
This paddling trip cancellation policy covers what happens when plans shift on one of the six spring runs in the catalog. Who decides? The inn, the outfitter and the park each write their own terms, and the office passes them along word for word.
You pay those three directly, so any refund comes from them. The office plans the nights, asks whether the places are free and sends the written quote.
Inns and outfitters hold no nights for an unaccepted spring run quote
Sending the form is free, reserves nothing and asks for no payment. The office then asks the inn and the outfitter whether those nights and a place on the water are free, and the full written quote follows once both have answered.
Nothing is held in your name until you accept that quote in writing. Walking away before then costs nothing, because nobody has been asked to hold anything yet.
When the inn and outfitter hold the nights and launch
Once you say yes, the office asks the inn to hold the nights and the outfitter to hold the launch. From that point their own cancellation and refund rules take over, and the written quote prints those rules as each of them states them.
Read that part before you accept. If the park has its own entry or launch terms for that day, the quote lists those as well, credited to the park.
Lightning and high water
Whether boats go out on a stormy afternoon is the outfitter's call, and the same goes for a day of high water. Outfitters stop launches for lightning, and summer brings afternoon thunderstorms to these rivers.
What happens next? If the outfitter cancels for lightning or high water, the office looks for another departure on the list and tells you in writing what it finds. The nights at the inn follow the inn's own terms, which decide whether they can be moved or refunded, and the written quote shows those terms before you say yes. If no other departure suits you, the office says so in writing and holds nothing further.
The inn answers for the room, the outfitter for the boats
Each of the three answers for its own side: the inn for the room, the outfitter for the boats and the calls on the water, the park for entry. What comes back to you after a change depends on their terms, as the written quote quotes them.
Moving to another departure with the office
Every dollar of the trip goes from you straight to the inn, the outfitter and the park. The inn or outfitter pays the office a commission, and this website never takes a payment, so nothing of yours sits with the office to give back.
To move to another departure, write to springs@foxrivertrail.org or call +1 (407) 898-3614 during the weekday phone hours shown on this page. The office relays the change to the inn and the outfitter the same way it sent the first request.
